I have been away from the hobby for about ten years, but am back now. I'm amazed at the abbreviations that have developed since then. Keeping in mind that this is roughly the same time period that abbreviations like OMG, LOL, and IMHO developed.

Abbreviations that drove me crazy until I looked them up...
Fts. Full tank shot
Bta. Bubble tip anemone
Gfo. Granulated ferric oxide

Some of the ones I remembered...
Lfs. Local fish store
Dsb. Deep sand bed
