So i went to village aquariums... Awesome place. Rich was great and helped my decision. Best prices as well. Will def be buying tank and stand from him.

Also the deep blue he has setup is actually the 60rimless. 48x24x12. Its nice! The shallowness makes it look even wider than 24". Awesome. My new LFS. Thanks imbarrie.

It actually worked out cause ive already seem the 80. The 60 is not bad at all. I wouldnt out 1' tang in there. But if u want shallow and only keeping small fish its def the way to go. Only thing i would suggest is to raise the tank with a taller stand. Atleast 36" stand if not more.

ME: Hey I love the dimensions on this tank. 48x24x16. Do you make a rimless
or/and a low iron glass version of this tank?

DB: Hello,

Thank you for contacting Deep Blue professional. The closest rimless model
would be our 60-RF with the dimensions 48x24x12 however it is only available
with regular glass.

Thank you for choosing Deep Blue Professional.

ME: Also is the 60 gallon rimless low iron glass like the 75 rimless?

DB: Hello,

No, our 60-Rimless Frag does not use Opti-Pure glass on any of the panes.
Our Edge series are the only models with Opti-Pure glass technology.

Thanks,
DBP Customer Service

ME: Word of advice, we as consumers don't like it when u make ot hard for us to
buy something from you.

One tank is opti clear and rimless, the other is perfect dimensions... A
sure fire hit but no rimless no opti clear, the other gives hope its
rimless, maybe a little too shallow but hey its wide. Oh but wait, its not
opti clear.

Add that to the fact none of their plumbing fit on the stand which makes you
mod the stand. Only modding the stand voids your lifetime warranty?

I'm not trying be an ass. I sincerely want to help. You guys can dust the
competition. Just make it simple...

Every tank u make u make it 2 ways. Standard. And the other, rimless, opti
clear, reef ready. With a stand that strikes fear in the heart of the laws
of gravity.

Hope this helps. That's all I meant by this. Please let me know if you ever
decide to make a rimless and opticlear 80g frag tank. Or the same 75 rimless
edge with 24" width. Deep Blue would annihilate the competition.

DB: Hello Andrew,

As a valuable customer, your input is important to us and greatly
appreciated. We actually have what you are looking for in the works but have
yet to receive any information concerning a release date. We have sent a
copy of your message to our development team and hope they can bump this
project up the list.

We offer two cabinet styles for our 48x24 & 48x18 platforms which come
predrilled to accommodate plumbing. For more information , please visit us
on the web at www.deepblueprofessional.com and click on the product catalog
link. Furthermore, our 48x24 cabinets have been tested to safely hold our
150 gallon aquariums so strength and stability will not be an issue.

Your email information has been added to our system and you will be notified
once we have more information.

Thank you for your interest in Deep Blue Professional.

ME: That's awesome! Please sign me up. Soon as a tank with 48x24 that is reef
ready opti clear and rimless comes out ill take one. Please notify me. And
thank you so much for great customer support.

Also, about the stand. No stand holes fit the any plumbing from a db tank
I've ever seen. Every store is ask every fellow reefer I ask tells me same
thing. They have to modify the stand in order to get the plumbing in and
down the stand.

If this is the first you hear of this its only because no one else contacted
you. But its def a well known issue.

Lastly if you have any time frame at all for a possible release of the
"perfect tank" please let me know. I'm buying a hour and the closing is in
April and I can wait till then before having to consider another tank.

Again thanks for the time and patience and wonderful support. Ill post this
great experience on the reef forums.

DB: Hello Andrew,

Will do! Launch date is expected between first and second quarter of this
year and you will be contacted via email once we have a definitive release
date.

We have not received word on issues with our corner overflow models used on
our cabinets. However, modification will be needed if our RR aquariums are
used on cabinets made by other manufacturers. We will look into this and
confirm with images as soon as possible.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
Thank you again for your input.

Thank you for choosing Deep Blue Professional.

ME: Thanks for the notification of release date. Great customer service. Will spread the word! Thanks again!

Above is an email conversation between me and Deep Blue. Its been going on for about the last 2 weeks or so. I felt the findings are very interesting to anyone who has been thinking of buying a tank anytime soon. I had to edit it as the first post had raw email data. Enjoy. Sorry for long post.

flytekk, what was the email address you were in contact with. I can send them pictures of the issue and note the same issues found wherever the tank is sold. Even at my LFS.

in reference to the pre-drilled hole.

The better product they come out with. The better for us. I may even upgrade to the rimless in the future. Hopefully they do the 48 x 24 x 16 rimless + external coast to coast!

Definitely. If they can go with starfire front, preferably external overflow to add to that 24" real estate then they are sitting on a gold mine if they keep prices at a fair price. They should open up the back of the stand or add PC fans to keep temp in the stand a lot lower. I personally keep one of my doors open a little.

I was thinking of that stand recently, and i was going to place 2 fans on the cable routing holes both suck out. And then leave cables routed through the slightly opened side door. But i may just wait to see what they are going to deliver in the comming months.

Better to open up the holes if your handy and can find good plastic inserts then add fans. Putting the wires through the side door won't work out as you possibly have planned. If anyone has suggestions for this, that would be awesome.
