More than 50% might shock the hell out of your livestock. 50% now then 5% every 2 days til it clears uo I would do. I always run carbon in my tank.

You've got to try to get the chunks out. I would suggest doing a 50% w/c only because your newly mixed saltwater hasn't had a chance to 'settle down' yet.
And definitely run carbon aggressively for at least a few days.

Good luck A,

If you have carbon - now is the time to use it. Just make sure to rinse it first. As for the saltwater, normally you would wait a while b4 putting it in the tank. The reason for this is that undisolved salt particles can burn your inhabitants. Get a heater in the bucket and the most powerfull pump you got to do the mixing. When the water is clear (not a trace of cloudiness) then you can do the change. B4 you do take out the powerhead and wait for any undisolved particles to fall to the bottom. Siphon the fresh saltwater from the top of the bucket and leave a few inches on the bottom and discard.

Clean Your Skimmer And Make Sure That It Is Pulling Stuff Out, Don't Do More Than 40% I Would Only Do 20%. And Wait If Its Still Cloudy After 24 Hours Do Another 20% But Make Sure Water That You Are Mixing Is Exact To The System If Your Going To Do 40% (alk, Ph, Salinity,kh, Calcium, Temp). If You Have A Draztic Change To Water You May Give Yourself More Problems Then What You Have Now.

you'll be fine same happened to me once. my rbta got stuck in the overflow but it was mostly all intact. It was just grinded in the overflow teeth. A good water change will do

Well...the nano cube went to hell...and i am done with that tank..time to switch over to my 2.5....

Jon, it got that much worse in less than 45 minutes??? You're tossing in the towel and you JUST started working on the problem? You're not setting a good precedence with this. Labor through it and make it right!

Herman gave the best idea for water change. Reread his post. And I'd do 50% as soon as you can get some clear saltwater mixed. And then I'd do another 50% tomorrow, 25% day after, and gradually reduce the % and frequency as you see things improve.

You can dooo eet. Don't give up.
