low ph

Some help guys. My Ph is 7.7 I know its not dangerously low, but I wanna get it in the 8 area. I know about the lime and baking soda tricks. My question is I heard alittle bit about air stones. Can I lut one in the sump? Would it help that much? I have a pin point Ph tester so its pretty much on. Also night and day its the same. It's not fully stocked, but about 20 corals and frags.

have you tested PH morning... afternoon and night?

I know u guys r thinking there is alot to account for like any reactors going, winxows, air flow, alk, etc. just asking about the airstone and lets just say its kinda a basic tank, whats a quick fix. Thanx

Lights r 11:30 - 6:00. Then I have a 5500 k bulb over my 30 gallon fuge for the rest of the day.

Yes you could use an airstone, but you will end up with a lot of salt creep doing so due to all of the tiny bubbles breaking in the air.

You would be better served to increase your surface agitation - either in your sump or DT and see if that brings the pH up a little further.

Winter months are tough on PH.Crack a window for a bit every day.

In my experience I think that running the air line of skimmer to outside is a simple an effective way to aid pH issues. I have mine setup that way and I also have a CO2 scrubber in between and my pH stays between 8.2 and 8.4
