Heres some criticism!... I think the tank looks nice! those are good pieces of LR. But i really think you will need a few more pieces. where are the powerheads? movement is very important. I like bowfront tanks. Best of luck!

Great start! Like BaaMNYC said, you need more LR, & Power Heads.. Do like your choice in the shape of the lr you already have.:)

Easier if you post the type of fish you would like to keep.;) Then others can give you thumbs up or thumps down on your choices.;)

That price isn't bad. Like fishman said they can get up there in price I've seen it for cheaper at fishtown on northrern but the pieces don't look as nice as the ones you have. I got mine from fellow reefers for 2 or 3 dollars a lb but you have to look out for pests Or you can get dry rock I think Kidninja on here was sellin some.

Powerhead wise. I would get two on opposite sides but I'm sure the more experienced reefers can give you more specific info like gph each and direction to face them. Or you can get the top of the line vortechs if your baller. Lol
Fish wise blue hippos are recommended for over 100 gallon tanks I believe.

I agree with BaaMNYC!
The hippo will get way to big for your tank fast. If your heart is set on one, get a tiny one, and be prepared to re-home it in a year or so. All the other fish on your list are fine. The midas blenny happens to be my absolute favorite of all the blennies. Just make sure that you get a midas, and not the canary blenny. The midas has blue eyes, the canary doesn't.

As to power heads: If you have the cash (I don't) then the vortex with the battery backup is the recommended one. Next to that is the Tunze, but if that is still to much then go for the Koralias. I have 4 #4 on my 155. Two is best for your tank, point them at each other to create some randomness. Their flow will crash into each other, and spread out a bit.

nice rocks. the price is actually good for them....especially if bought at the lfs.

for a 46 gal. bowfront, i think 2x koralia 750 should be good. i would skip the vortech and spend the $ on more rocks and livestock. if you have extra cash then vortech is awesome.

2x koralia 750 = $72 shipped + automatic back up air pump $15 + shipping. vs. vortech mp 40 ~ $450 + back up battery ~ $150

i have 4 koralia's in my tank. i think they are great, not as good as vortech of course but i like them because you can angle them in any direction and way cheaper. overall i think its the best bang for your buck. I also have them facing each other so the current crashes into each other.
