im torn between the vertx alpha cone 250 skimmer and the reef octopuss i think its the 5000 ,i have 200 gallons total volume of water in my system and im pretty stocked with corals and fish i may in the future upgrade tanks also ,im currently running a asm g4 skimmer what would u guys get

the 5000 is way to much for that size system and so is the alpha 250, the alpha 200 atb 1050 not a fan of the reg octo but do like the recirc models, check rc there's a few bigger deltecs f/s also

Chuck ... I was looking at both of those two skimmers myself, but my system is 300 gallons total, heavily stocked and fed....I needed somthing as strong as my MRC 2 dual beckett, but alittle more energy efficient with less maintainance. I also thought they maybe alittle too big...so I got a good deal on a Vertex in280 and if the pump is not enough I will put a BB5000 pump on it. ....but if your looking to upgrade and choose from those two go with the Alpha if you got got the extra $ for it...
