My rodi is hooked up to a float valve and when it's full the waste water continues to run.

I was told the waste stops when the RODI is shut off with a float valve. Do I have to wait for a bit to "flush" out?

I was also told the waste always runs.... Is there a way to stop it?

You have something wrong. Do you have an actual shut off module. A float is not the auto shut off. The float creates back pressure that activates the auto shut off. Look on your to unit to see if there is a square type box that the lines are going through. The waste water should not run at all times!!!!

Like thirty 5 said. Look for the shutoff valve. Small, with 4 lines to it.
If u do have one. Sometimes they get AIRBOUND and u might have to move it around a bit till it works.

sense when water in the DI "out" tube increases to x% of the feedwater pressure, and then they shut off the feedwater to the membrane (which stops the flow of waste water).

You'll also need a check valve to make the ASOV work.
