Having problems with an RO unit I picked up and it's becoming quite the PIMA. The unit has made aprox 120g of RO water. It's a 100gpd unit. I have replaced the first 2 cartridges AND have changed out the ro membrane and added the missing flow restrictor, and while trying to troubleshoot and figure out WHY THE UNIT ISN'T MAKING WATER, I noticed that the flow restrictor was MISSING, GONE, NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. SO, sent the seller an email to inquire...MAYBE YOU HAVE IT HOOKED UP WRONG is what I was told. Come'on man really? So for a $75 used RO unit I'm into it another $115 AND THE UNIT STILL DOESN"T MAKE WATER! About to get in a jam, I don't have much more RO stored. At this point I'm buried if I have to go buy a new one. Feel like I definitely got burned, sucks.

Nothing at all. No product water, No waste water. This is the 3rd time in a month. I have already replaced he micron filter, carbon block filter, ro membrane and flow restrictor . I have also installed a flush valve as well. Like I said I picked it up used and was told the cartridges had about 1/2 life left in them. Guess that wasn't true. Just want to get this thing working before I run out of storage water. So in a months time, $75 for the unit, $80 for a new membrane, $20 for a new flow restrictor, $4 for a micron filter, $8 for a new carbon block filter, $12 in parts for a flush valve. Getting burned by someone with a perfect reefer rating...PRICELESS.

Worked. Thanks. Was really trying to not have to take it all apart AGAIN. I've done this every time it has stopped producing water, about 6 times. Like I said, I've replaced ALL of the cartridges including the membrane and a new flow restrictor, except the DI. It was missing the flow restrictor when I got it (I didn't know this). So now I'm into the thing for almost $200 for a used ro/di unit and it constantly clogs (every 30g or so). Is this normal?

looks like its the line from the micron fiber chamber to the carbon block chamber. i understand what the problem was to start, with the flow restrictor missing it was prob killing the membrane w/full pressure. But now, after I have replaced all these things it shouldnt keep clogging like this. I give up. I sent an email to the person I bought it from to see if he could lend any insight to the problem, maybe help w/ it...he told me I must have it hooked up wrong...really dude...3 HOSES, 1 LINE IN...2 OUT...1 WASTE...1 PRODUCT...DON'T REALLY SEE ANY WAY TO HOOK IT UP WRONG. What a waste of an email.
