How did you get rid of majanos and a aiptasias

So how did every one get rid of them in there tanks? Any special tricks you guys did or a special invert or fish or chemical you guys used on the tank to get rid of them?

I made this thread to help out other newbies like me and what to do when aiptasias and majanos invade your tank. Maybe this thread can come later on for future reference.

I got rid of a rock riddled with aiptasia by gently brushing them against the tentacles of an elegance coral. The aiptasia died in a week.

How long did it take him to eat all your aiptasias. Did they ever grow back again till this day?

I injected them with white vinegar.. Years later ~ I just saw a bunch of them living in one of my overflows.arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggg

Did any of your paremeters changed when you using the white vinger on them? I'm trying to get rid of them a.s.a.p I dont want to see any my fish missing especially my small black misbar ocellaris clownfish =(

Nope, it did not affect parameters. But I do have a large tank, and I didn't have tons of aiptasias either.

I wasn't sure what a Majanos was so i googled it found this ......

How they were removed. My system was to boil some RO water (rather than tap water), and suck this up into a syringe. Injecting each majano with boiling water allowed me to scrape them off one by one with a dental tool. Some were siphoned out with thin flexible tubing. In the meantime, a product called "Joe's Juice" promises to kill majanos without detriment to the reef. I've not tried it myself since these are no longer in my tanks.

There you go you just learned something new today buddy...but do keep in mind they can sting your corals and fish. Also they grow and multiply quick too.

dont waste your money on aiptasia x.itsa the same thing as Kalk.plus it never worked for me.you can get the bigger ones but NOT the smaller ones and you will just keep buying it over and over again.i learned that the hard way

If doesn't work for me either Duke I have a few back up plans already. My first back up plan will be getting a copperband to do the job.

I knew you was going to post up the link on majanos Paul lol. But yes that does help out Paul.

But not just for me but for others as well I would like to know what is needed to stop these bugger on the rocks. With all the information other M.R posted up on this thread if I'm not mistaking there are still different tricks people of done to get rid of them. So it possible for every one who has gotten rid of they in the past please post up more tricks on what people you know have taught you or learned from while you been in the reef hubby.

I had a Breakout of aiptasia in my 6 gallon edge..I bought a peppermint shrimp and in less than 2 days..all aiptasia gone..haven't seen any back since..
I heard stories that the peppermint shrimp may not be reef friendly but so far he has not eaten any of my corals and he is full of personality..eats right out of my hand..lol

yeah peppermint is hit or miss.....i just got new LR and have quite some majano and aiptasia.....need to get rid of asap. i was planning on picking up a syringe and injecting them with lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide. complete noob at this so if anybody wants to help feel free to come to chinatown!
