Doser pump 2 channels

Anyone using a 2 part doser pump? I'm considering on one and wanted some feedback from our MR members on how reliable this is and what are the maintenance involve. I would think clogging is the biggest problem with dosers. How does it keep the solutions in suspension? kalk, 2 part, etc..all will tends to settle after awhile. Thanks for any feedback in advance.

This person sells them on ebay and they're ver reliable. You can get a duel drip pump for him. He auctions them off all the time and they usually go for in the $70-$100 range. You can also add, for a small additional amount, a float switch. They also have a web site so you can see the different pumps that they offer.

An awesome doser for the purpose of 2 part is the Spectrapure Litermeter III. This unit is super reliable and does not clog because the suction power is incredible. I know Kedd has been using one for many years without any problems whatsoever. The litermeter would be my first choice. The 2 pump unit goes for about 250 used.

Another good doser is the Aquamedic doser. Dave (Spykes) has been researching many dosers before deciding that this is a good one. Dave is like the authority of 2 part on this site. Quite a few of us go to him to get our two part.

I dont know about using medical dosers. I have never used them but I do know that they are big and do not offer the suction power the above two dosers do.

The medical doses aren't big at all. They're actually small units and work quite well. They have great suction and work very well. For a couple of $$$ more you can add on a float switch.

They're also priced very cheap and work as well or better than the Spectrapure Litermeter IIII. I wouldn't spend $250 on the Spectrapure Litermeter III as it's just another "hobby markup" on a product that you can get a lot cheapier.

I run a medical doser.
I only dose Kalk as my top off but there is 2 channel tubing you can use to dose 2 part.
My unit is not big & I believe they pull & push water from over 6 feet.
Works fine for my needs at the moment. I haven't ran it long enough to notice any clogging, but I keep extra tubing on hand.
If you don't use the float switch, you'll have to monitor & adjust the volume....as weather effects how much water is evapoated.
However, it sure beats filling up my sump with jugs to top off.

It's funny because it's the same company, that have the website, that sells them on ebay. There use to be 2 different sellers on ebay but they where both from Conn, so they may have been the same people.

I told Dean about them and he actually got his cheapier, from the same people, on the Germany ebay.

When I setup my tank again and the calcium demands of the corals demand more than water changes (going with softies and lps for a while this time) I'll going to use dosing pumps instead of a calcium reactor. I couldn't stand using a calcium reactor, too many variables to worry about. A dosing pump system seems so much simpler.

I was thinking about the litermeter III with 2 additional pumps or an aquamedic system with 3 pumps (2 for 2 part and one for top off). does anyone use the aquamedic one?

wow ,thx 4 all the info. I've checked out innovativeaquatics.com n saw so many pumps. besides 1 n 2 channels, y r there so many? which one's the best(& cheapest) just for 2 part dose. whats the diff between float switch n a float valve. i still not sure 1 thing. doesn't the 2 part solution settle to bottom after awhile(thats y it needs shaking). how do u keep it in suspension when dosing with pump?.

I really have no experience with 2 part but with Kalk, you do not want to use the bottom nor the top of the mix.
I currently do not use a float switch..

They all function the same way, but that site explains it's extra features for each one.
