HOw do I get rid of this crpa on my sb ? I was thinking of getting three tiger gobies to turn over the bottom all day but is there anyting else ? Oh the tank has been up sicne dec if thats needed
Do you have pictures of the algae? What are you parameters for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates? What livestock is in the tank? What equipment is on the tank?
I might have pics tonight. no amonia. my nitrates were at 10ppm as far as the live stock its : purple tang, queen angel, 3 green chormis, maroon clown, and a neon damsel. the tank is a 125 I have this euroreef skimmer not srue the model but its pretty big 2 over flows one dpr the other lif reef. pc lighting , 100 gall sump iwaki 70 return I think thats it
If the tank's only a 5 or so months old, it may be cyanobacteria or a diatom bloom. Trying searching Manhattan Reefs or the internet for pictures of either of those and see which you have.
idk some sort of crab but this was in my 55 a while ago but everyting form there is in this tank. I got the starfish then a couple days later it had like a leg missing then it had half of it missing then it was all gone one day
If you didn't see the crab eat the starfish it may have died on its own. A lot of times they cannot find the right foods, begin eating themselves and weeks later just disintegrate.
Turning over the sandbed does not address the issue of why you have the algae. Typically, this algae is one of the first to appear in a new tank. If this is the first time you're seeing this algae, it should just dissipate as the tank matures. If this is a reoccurrance of the algae, then that is cause for concern. How much and what types of food are you feeding?
