i recently purchased a powder blue tang and a lipstick tang to add some color to my tank and finish it off with my fish in my 75gallon...

the fish were carefully picked and examined in its tank on monday february 27th 2012... they were eating well and no signs of scratching and they were together with no problems...
brought them home and acclimated them to my tank and put them in...
this was my mistake! i should of set up a seperate tank to watch them for a month but i didnt and this is were the problems occured...

ok so tuesday they didnt eat and my shy yellow tang that was in there already was coming out but to annoy my powder blue... my lipstick was spotted everytime i came by the tank...

weds they started eating and eating well just would dissapear when i came to the glass.. my yellow tang would flare up to show its size but never really would attack... the rest of the days would be the same...

so sunday comes and ive been keeping an eye on them and i look at my powder and see a salt spec on his body so now i look at all my fish.. my lipstick has a spot on his fin and my yellow tang has one his body.. smh now im worried.. i catch my powder scratching! smh i use my 20 gallon and immediately i start making water.. my boy lends me his hang on filter, light fixture and power head...

(monday)so i take out 20 gallons from my display in 4 buckets put the water i made in the 20 gallon in my display and put the 4 buckets in my 20 gallon... setup the tank and search for the fishes.. i destroyed my rock setup! and took 5 hours trying to catch these fish...smh

before i started to catch them the spots on my fish were gone.. so before i started copper dosing i want to make sure they have it before i do this to them... 24 hrs no sign of it

what should i do?
should i just start dosing w/ copper?
should i wait and make sure its ich?

any help and advice is appreciated..
i never dealt with this before so i have no idea

well there is a couple issues here 1. if you see spots already then most likely they have some sort of parasite qt for like 6-8 weeks any sing start treating it. 2 it could be in the dt now so it might be a good idea to qt all the fish for 6-8 weeks to kill off what ever it is. 3 it could be stress 3 tangs in a 75 gallon tank is stress full.

Thats a pretty big bio-load of fish for a 75! If its at all possible, you might wanna think about upgrading. When I had my 75 up and running, it took me a year to convince myself to get a yellow tang and I only had a clown, 3 chromis and a diamond goby. I'm a firm believer in giving tangs as much room as possible. If you have the means, I would look into a 180 for all those fish IMO

its funny you say that bc im planning on getting a bigger tank i just wanna do this build right from the begining no steps back... havent decided how big yet but january i plan on setting it up... so wont be fish ready for some time... i thought that too but ive seen people do it so i thought i could to... does a big clean up crew make any difference?
