My Pacific Sun Metis Hyperion Arrived!

Finally! I got home from work tonight to a box containing the new Metis Hyperion fixture Pacific Sun sent to replace a pair of malfunctioning Pythons. I think I'm in love. And here it is:

Based on your floor tiles looks like a 36" fixture? What size tank? Curious to see it's color rendition.

Yeah, it's a little less than 36". It's European so everythiung is metric and the specs say it's 850mm long. It's going over a 120g tank that's 48x24x24. I gave the guys at Pacific sun the dimensions of my tank and the corals I keep (mix of SPS and soft) and this is the size they said would suit my tank. It's got some big-ass LEDs on those boards, each throws off 150w max. It's got 8 color channels and I'm sure it will taks some tweaking to get it just right.

Your lucky pacific sun replaced your bad pythons with that, for my trouble I went thru with my 160 watt master python they gave me nothing but excuses ( pacific sun company) and grief.

Mako, we have a local store here in the Albany area that is carrying the PAC Sun and saw them demo during recent CDMAS meeting. Do they carry the same warranty is bought through a local dealer as opposed to ordered directly? What is the difference in the LEDs between the Pandora XM 4x150 and the Metis Hyperion 4x150?

warranty is the same no matter where it is purchased.

All lamps with XM (black python, metis, pandora) have 3 ch control and CREE XM-L cool white, XP-E Royal Blue, XP-E Blue

All Hyperion lamps (metis, pandora) have 8 ch control and CREE XM-Lcool and neutral white,Cree XT-E Royal Blue 450nm and 465nm, 3.3W each, Cree XP-E Green 530nm 3.3W each, Cree XP-E Red 630nm 3.3W each, Cree XP-E Orange 610nm 3.3W each, UV-A 400nm & 420nm 3W each, Cree XP-E Blue 475nm

Also picked up a pair of these lamps 4 x150 ,They are easy to use and adjust,there is no spotting in tank.
