I Cant Catch a Break, Ich now flatworms, Can I run Carbon and Bio-Pellets?

Came home today and first of all found that one of my female anthias is GONE! No clue, looked around cant see if it jumped, but maybe it is just hiding.

Ich last week, now damn FLATWORMS! I have FWE but I don't have carbon running...

I do have a TLF150 that I can run the carbon in, but is there an issue with running carbon and Bio-Pellets?

I really don't want to poison the water when they die.

what does the carbon got to do with the flatworms carbon just takes crap out of the water and pretty much polishes it.

are you planning on medicating the tank then running carbon?

After use FWE, need to use the carbon to clear the toxins that come out of the FW when they die.

When I ran BPs, I had GAC running with no problems.

Yep! They are running. I have them in a MR-XL1 reactor.

I'm running carbon,.pellets, and gfo! No.problems here

Ok, it sounds like running the carbon along with the pellets isn't an issue... just remember you want to increase the oxygen in the tank before you do the treatment with the FWE and do be sure to siphon out as many flatworms as possible before you start to lessen the amount of toxins when they start to die.
Also have a large water change ready to go and follow all of the directions carefully.

dude dont stress ur self killing them...just buy a melunaries wrasse <<< i hope i spelled it right he will handle the problem for u in less then a week... alot of ppl dont know about what this wrasse is capable of.....................in my opinion its the best way to get rid of flatworms he will eat them all....

I would, but "rimless" sorta kills that purchase....

If rimless is the only thign stopping you from a wrasse, build an asthetically pleasing cover with screen framing, plastic corner pieces and gutter guard

Not putting a cover on the tank. if i wanted a cover I would have not gotten a rimless tank. The look of it is what I want.

i swore i post this last night....perhaps i was too sleepy...typed it up but didn't hit the post button

anyway i got the carbon, tlf150, hose, valve and pump. i got even a better solution with the carbon stuff....call me i'm off today. i can get you up and running in 5 mins.

Mandarins also eat flatworm. I had a really bad outbreak got a pair of Melanaris and a Mandarin and they took care of it. My Copperband was also eating them
