What is the best way to remove ick from a tank that has invertebrates? Is it possible to treat the fish in the main tank if I can't catch them to transfer them to a hospital tank?

Not really. There are some meds out there that are deemed reef safe and some people say they work. But to be 100% sure that you do not have ich in your tank, you have to remove all fish for at least 8-10 weeks.

Whatever you do, do not use Kick Ich. It caused a massive tank crash to the extent that leather corals died and to top it off all the fish that had ich still died. All snake oil cures dont work. Only real proven cure is quarantining and treating with copper or hyposalinity

Herbtana may work...it has helped me in the past. I have one tank that just seemed to not want to kick the ich issue. I left it fallow for 8 weeks. Treated the fish in hypo. I put them back in and it popped up again :-O. I tried treating with Herbtana for 10 days and it seemed to help the fish fight off the parasite and then things went back to normal. You will have to turn the UV and skimmer off for 10 days. I was only treating a FOWLR, so no coral to harm. I'm not sure I would do that if I ever had the issue in my reef tanks.

Before people start yelling...removing them and treating with copper or hypo are probably the most tried and true methods, but this is one alternative I have tried. Worked for me and stressed the fish less.
