I have a 120g dual overflow and I want to know how high or what is a good high for the durso..i

Is 3 inches a Ok fall for the water entering the overflow box?

3 inches is from the top of the overflow box to the elbow on the durso...

the deeper the durso, the longer the drop for the water and the more noise it makes (in high flow).

Mine actually stick out the top of the tank cause I want little to no noise. I get about 2" drop total with proper air holes in the caps - I also have my pump wide ipen now, so it is flowing like crazy.

i originally had mine high up also to minimize noise (as long as its not higher than the water level, you are ok). I have since opted to let the water fall all the way to the bottom (provides for better gas exchange). I didnt want too high of a flow through my sump/refugium anyway, i use a Tunze Stream for current.
