me too, I won't go to BP even when my gas light is blinking and there is one right across the street.

Got some disappointing news- BP gas is used in a multitude of different gas stations with different names on the signs. They sell to other names so even though you don't see the BP green signs, that wonderful gas you are pumping into your tank could very well be some BP gas.

Also why boycott the stations? The owners aren't the ones responsible for BP's mistakes. They're just trying to make a living, they owned the stations way before the spill ever happened.

do they supply to exxon/mobile?

If you read the article- they own a lot of the holding tanks that MANY other companies get their fuel from. Even if Exxon was supplied by BP they'd never admit it.

It's funny how fast people forget once a limelight was put on anyone else- all you preaching exxon/mobil over BP---do you remember the word VALDEZE? That has Alaskan waters where it happened screwed up to this day, research it.

Everyone does the shame on you game when disasters happen, but yet people still say we should be using our own sources of oil to leave the middle east reliance in the past.

Well, guess what--IF WE DID THAT THERE WOULD BE 100X THE OFF SHORE OIL RIGS LIKE THE ONE IN THE GULF AND THESE DISASTERS WOULD HAPPEN WAY MORE OFTEN.

So stop preaching the Mobil thing. they screwed up big time just like BP did.

Fill up when you need gas and let mom and pop that rely on their business to keep their house to survive.

Don't be fooled it's one big sharing/melting pot the fuel business. They all get their piece of each other and get rich doing it.

Buy a hybrid if you feel so strongly

It doesnt offend me- what makes me a bit annoyed is everyone that talks like they never use BP gas and use mobil or hess.

But you never know what brand fuel you're putting in 100%.

Plus, you never take a road trip where the stations available aren't Exxon/Mobil?

where the stations available are:

Marathon
Valero
Chevron
Loves
TA
Philips

and so on?

Well if you do and you fill up you have in fact put money in BP's pocket.

I just happen to have a close friend that has owned a BP station for 25+ years and because people think he's a shareholder in BP(which none of them are) they won't support the station. So people should learn their facts on the fuel conglomerates before boycotting the small business owners of this country is all.

I could care less what you put in your tank

I go to whatever station is available when I need gas, I dont feel like possibly running on fumes to find a mobil station when on a highway is all.

One more thing- thanks for posting jerl was a good link

There are thousands of people who work for this company that did nothing wrong. Boycotting the company hurts them more. It's always the innocent that suffer from things like this. The people who are actually responsible will never truly be hurt. Another way to look at things is that by boycotting them you are hurting the cleanup effort because the company has to pay for the whole process. If you boycott them they will have no money to pay for the whole cleanup. Either way, innocents suffer.
