open the wedge all the way, closed means bubbles will be higher, the further it is open the lower the bubbles, also does yours have the adjustable input nozzle on the pump ? if so back it almost all the way out, and i ran my alpha 200 in 8" of water

I'm running mine in 9 inches of water. Screw on pump is 3full turns out. I ran it wide open for the first few weeks until it broke in and now I closed it a little and the bubbles stop at the neck of the cup. I think it's a matter of finding the sweet spot and letting it break in first

I run my AC170 in 9" of water and 2 1/4 turns on the volute. I originally raised it with a makeshift stand made out of eggcrate. I made a stand out an acrylic sheet and cut PVC for legs since.
