So i just ordered one of these, and i am really excited :) but just a few questions the reason i bought the unit was mainly for 2 things to save my heater from cooking my tank and to run random flow for my powerheads. i already have my lights on timers so i am probally not going to run my lights off the unit for now. so with the powerheads how do you program them and can i have them turn off and on as much as i want? i will probally be recieving the unit today or tommorow but i started doing research now so its a quick set up when i do recieve it. but i couldnt find anything on programming the powerheads thanks for the help.

Tell the members what power heads you have. Reason is that some power heads cannot be ran on wave mode; for instance my koralia will get fried if I were to run them on a wave mode.
I don't know about the RKL, but my RK2 has a wave maker option which is found on the menu. I'd click on select, and scroll until the wave maker option comes up then click select on it.

I can probably help you on Friday after work if you are available after 5p.
It's really easy though to go through menus.
just make sure you update all the files before using. RKL head unit is on update 2.06 and PC4 is on update 2.01 or something like that... I forget.

i have a another question actually for you guys i set up my heaters set point to 78.5 now does that mean my heater will turn on and off to maintain that temp? and then i set an alarm for my heater that if my temp ever went above 83 that it would trip the heater and shut it down. is this the correct way to set it up?

i just read the alarm function a little further and it doesnt look like it will actually shut the heater down it will just give me an alarm to let me know my temp is to hot. how could i set an alarm up to shut the heater down or is there no way to do that.

This is what you can do.
What I did was set my temp to 77* which means that if it goes above that temp it will turn the heater off. You can also install a fan if you would like so that if the temps go above XX* temperature it will turn off allowing circulation and cool down.
The alarm you would use for things like an ATO, to let you know if you have gone above the water mark.
Just remember to set the ID for the items, so that the unit knows that this outlet is a light/heater/chiller etc etc.

well i have my temp set to 78.5 so i am assuming then by default the heater will shut off if ever above that number. so it already is a fail safe then i guess. and what do you mean by an ID? i have the 4 channels and each channel has each function but it doesnt look like i can actually change the name of the channel to what it is actually running. kind of lost me there sorry lol.

i just went into my alarm under my heater channel and it said action off. and this alarm is set to trip at 83 degrees so then that action off should mean that it would shut it down i am assuming right?
