Mushroom coral toxic ????

I've read that mushrooms are toxic however I had an infestation on a nice piece of rock that I could not remove from the tank so today I decided to cut the little f*****s off at the foot with a scalpel and remove them. There was a fair amount of slime that was produced and a little dark colored liquid but I did a water change rite after and so far everything looks ok. What do you guys think ? How toxic are mushrooms ?

They is a possibility that they will grow back from whatever remnants are on the rock.

They will pollute the water but the water change was a good move. I would run some carbon as well to remove any remnants from the water column.

i nail them with kalk whenever they get to a point i can. when they are small enough i hit them with the manjano wand. the wand makes them disappear for a few weeks but they always come back no matter how long i zap them for but it keps them at bay for a bit. when i kalk them they never return and my cleaner shrimp eats them as they are dieing but i can only kalk the ones that are large and on the top rock. when there base stretches out i cant poke them with the syringe because they are real loose. i try and get the syringe in the neck part. i had HUNDREDS of shrooms that killed some SPS now 4 months later im down to maybe 20 or 30

You guys have any tips on dealing with zoas ? I have a bunch of joker palys approaching some sps and taking over a decent sized rock
