I am planning on either adding a cal reactor or a kalk reactor.
I've been really trying to figure both of them out as how they will end up working with my system properly.
From the way I am seeing this...
Kalk Reactor would end up working through mixing water with my top off... then it is introduced into the tank through drip method...? correct me if i am wrong.
Cal Reactor... would just be run through introduction of co2 into media through water that is currently in my system...and recirculated back.

am I missing anything here?
How would there be top off compensation based on kalk reactor... if it's mixing with top off water and not on an overshoot of my cal/kh? or basically how does one limit the amount thats mixed in when there is evap?

I'm kind of in the same boat, for what I realiced is that my tank doesnt have enough evap so that the Kalk maintains the alk and Ca levels that I want.

Perhaps that should be your first step and figure out if Kalk will be enough.
I go thru ony 3.5G of top off per week. even with a Kalk saturated solution, thats too little kalk going into the tank to maintain the levels.

I've never run a Ca reactor, but with the Kalk reactor you mix it with your top off. In order to not overshoot your levels, Ph,Ca and kh, you need to add less Kalk to the solution.
I hope I didnt confused you more.

skene i would highly recommend the cal reactor over the kalk reactor.if you have somewhere for fresh air to be introduced to keep your PH stable dont worry about the kalk for now. never been so happy not having to dose my tank with 2 part. best piece of equip i have bought. since i have a ceiling fan in the room with my tank i put it in reverse and open a window and my ph stays at 8 to 8.3. it depends on the amount of co2 in the house and coming from my reactor. sometimes i just have to turn the fan on
