Can someone please help me ID this SPS coral. I've asked a few people and nobody seems to know what it is. The tips on the coral is finally starting to color up. Here are the pics:
hey steve whassup
It looks like an Acropora that's been grown in an extremely high flow area, i.e. semi-encrusting with short branches. Because it may have adapted its morphology for life in a high flow area it may be hard to get a definitive id. It may be something that it doesn't look like at first glance. However, I'd say the discrete corallites put it in the Acropora genus at least.
