Metal halide question

Is there a difference between the double ended metal halide( that sounds really bad) and the mogul screw in style? Growth color? Looking to supplement my LEDs with metal halide any suggestions on a good color for growth? 120 mixed reef

The double ended HQI halide bulbs provide a higher watt for watt photosynthetic available radiation (PAR) value than that of the SE halide mogul bulbs, plus have only on hot spot as opposed to three with the moguls. I think the heat issue is greater with the mogul style bulb as well.
Best growth will be evident in the kelvin range of 10000k, in my opinion!
