Anyone have water alarms? I was thinking I'd put mine under my sump (its raised off the floor a bit), but it has a suction cup on it like it's supposed to go at the top of a tank.

From my limited logic, if there was a problem I would suspect my main tank would overflow before the sump would ... I have a built in overflow, so the only catastrophe I could see is if the drain got blocked and the pump put the entire sump into the main tank.

If anyone has any suggestions on a good place for it, let me know.

I put mine in the sump sligthly above the water level as a safety if the auto-off valve fails and put too much water into the tank. You can use it either way to suit your needs.
 that's really smart

Thank you for the compliment. But of course, there has to be someone around when that happens to turn off the water supply and my wife is not that someone eventhough she is at home all the time.

Regal, You need to wire up your aquacontroller to send you an email when this happens, then call your wife to have her either get the mop ready or shut down the auto top off system and\or the main pump for you:D.

I am getting a web cam for my fish room next..

My aquaJr does not have that feature. No external I/O like the other models.

It would be neat if the aquacontroller had a feature whereby a certain input could kill a channel.
IE: If water alarm goes off, kill return pump & top off.
That would beat the hell out of sending an e-mail.

Suppose your smtp servers are jammed up. Cali you live in Cablevision territory, if you have optonline you have a good chance of not receiving that e-mail.

The ACIIIPro takes up to four external switch inputs and can trigger on\off any of the controlled channels(X10 module), so it does all of what you mentioned and sents out an email at the same time. I have not had any problem with Optonline's SMTP server yet!! You can also hook up a serial modem to the controller as a back up.
