I owned the dialysea's and after seeing how it works , You would need a conductivity controller a dialysis filter a peristaltic pump and timer. Sure you can build one but its a pretty penny even if you Diy it..
So my new system I will be doing my own diy automatic water change
Im still working out a few ideas but here's a pic of what I will be doing..

I used the shop vac before works like a champ...I still have mineit will do a 1 gallon a day of water change.. The Timer turns on vac , within a few seconds the the ball stop , stops sucking water caus its full, the Float switch timer turns on releasing the gravity feed pre made salt water in a 50 gallon Can with heaters and stirring pump into sump which stops at the float switches desired height, then that timer turns off after 20 mins or so to prevent evaporation from happening and allowing unwanted saltwater. Which will raise your salinity, And allow for the rodi to replace what evaporates through out the day..

Also I drilled a hole with nipple at the bottom of the shop vac with a 3/8 hose which goes to my drain , so I dont even have to empty the shop vac..the water dosn't drain while the vac is on.. when the vac turns off the ball stop falls and then the water drains...
