live rock help

i took out 60 pounds of live rock from my 46 g tank,and placed out of water for 2 weeks .the live rock was coverd 80prcent with aptasia.is it ok to put it back into the tank? or should i wash it or treat it.my 46 g is connected to a 55g sump which is conected to a 57g.my 57g is my main tank and is doing real good,i dont want to mess that tank up thanks

i put it in a bucket with r.o water and a mag 9 pump to wash of all the dead stuff,after a couple of days water smells real bad,must be working after that i am going to scrub it and put it back in the tank,thanks for all the help you guys are wonderfull :lol_large:thanks:

What percentage of the rock in your tank is this 60 pounds?

My concern would be that keeping the rock out of water for 2 weeks obviously would kill the rock. If you do not allow the rock to recycle (after you get all of the dead stuff out), you will have a big cycle in your DT when you put the rock back in.

Without some sort of treatment, I would also not be surprised at all if all of the aiptasia doesn't come right back wherever the rcok was still even just damp during that period
