sudden casualty ???????

Okay guys just lost my deresa clam had him for over 1yr. was doing fine looked at him yesterday and he was fine then last night he receded into his shell and this morning he almost completely gone the funny thing is that no one picked at hime not even the narsasis snails can anyone tell me we what they think happened like i said he was doing fine all day then that night he just withered away all parameters are the same except alk it went up a little from 9.6 to 10 but thats it and i can't see that affecting him, not to mention nothing else in the tank is being affected by the alk swing i was looking to get a maxima but now I'm a little worried any help would be appreciated guys thanks :smash::smash::smash:

Sorry Clams are funny like that. It is not at all uncommon for them to go overnight for unknown reasons.

As Rob stated, check for snails, they are called Pyramid Snails. Here are a couple of pictures with them.

Thanks guys but he's gone and there is nothing left but the empty shell and my daughters broken heart don't think i will be getting anymore clams for a long time
