I was cleaning My 24gal jbj nano when i plugged in the pump it did not start I pulled it out took it apart cleaned it it now makes noise i think it is going and want to have a backup. can some tell me what pump comes with it jbj website said it is a 290 gph but no name on the pump it said jbj only or what pump will fit and if changing the pump should i get a higher GPH I have enclosed some pix of the pump!

i would try to take it apart again.... run it in a bucket of rodi water or wateva water u use before setting it up on the tank again to see if you have to make any adjustments.... maybe it could be the impeller thats making the noise... check it out........

cibo, happaned to me when I had the nano stock pump for the 12g. I literally just plugged that thing in, put it in the tank and just banged it around a few times and it started going again. Just shake it around a bit.

A few friends have the 24 nano cube and they all swap out the stock pump for a MaxiJet 1200, much more reliable. See Steelhealr's thread in the "Beginners Section" over on nano-reef.com.
