This is the story of my Royal Gramma named Typhoid Mary who is a jerk of a fish..
About 3 or 4 years ago, I ordered a very rare fish and stupidly put it into the sump for QT. That fish was verry sick and died the next morning. The following day I noticed my display fish where sick. Over the next week I lost every one of the fish in my DT and at the time the 8 breeder setups that where attached to the system. in all nearly 20 fish died in a week or two. The disease was similar to velvet or brook.
my Royal Gramma, at that time a tiny little fish. was the last fish alive. skin sloughing off. skin lesions in generally terrible shape it refused to die. I tried everything to catch it at one point we have 8 arms in a 65g and could not get this fish.
SO I decided .. before we break any more corals just let it die. then I will fallow the tank for awhile ect ect ..
This fish never did die and after a month of looking like a zombie it slowly recover and I always worry whatever disease is in the tank.. is still there. It kept me from adding fish back to my reefs for about 3 months.
So FF to now and I am upgrading and I took down the tank TM was in and plan to bring it to the lfs, but my friend says after all that fish has been through with me.. non of it good really.. fish is a territorial jerk.. but he says it deserves a home here and I should put it in the new tank. I am still thinking to use it for fluke bait..j/k but not sure to put it back in after I tried to get it out for so many years.
so whats your guys opinion has the jerk of a disease ridden fish earned a spot in paradise (my new 150) after living through the plague like it did?:scratchch
I know America loves an underdog.. but this isnt your lovable type survivor this is a mouth open territory defending purple jerk who is thumbing his little fishy nose at me .. I know he is~
