How many pumps and which model do you guys recommend for a 90 gallon tank? Eventually I plan on upgrading to a 180+, so I would like to use the pump/s on the new setup.
I was planning on buying 2 pumps with the double contoller and just running one until I upgrade the tank.

Thanks,
Jose

Right now I have sand and it's a mix reef. The stock consist of zoanthids, rics, acans, favias, chalice, frogspawn, torch, hammer, 3 clams, gsp, and I just started adding SPS frags.
The new tanks would be mostly SPS along with my current stock. I don't see the upgrade happening until the end of the year or beginning of next.

Deanos: Thanks for responding so quick.

hey Jose, wassup.

personally, i think you'd be fine running both 6000's in a 90. using the controller, you can throttle them down and use a wave program that isn't so violent. i've seen some tanks using 2 tunzes in 3' tanks with sandbeds.

when u're ready to hit that 180 and you find that the 6000's aren't enough flow, you can easily upgrade to the 6100's by purchasing new transformers. the strange thing is that you won't be spending any additional money going this route. buying a 6100 is about the same price as buying a 6000 + 6100 transformer.

You can just start off with the 6100 and dial down the power. Price is about the same to upgrade the 6000, but why bother? Go with the 6100's and the multi controller which will give you more ports in case you want to add any more tunzes. You can run up to 4 pumps on it. The multi controller also has the photocell with the moonlight. Just my 2 cents... this is how I run my 180 and love it.
