I just put my clean up crew in my 120 gallon tank. It is a new tank that just went through its cycle. It will be a mixed reef eventually. I know the obvious, they are a "clean up crew". Point is, I have no other livestock in the tank yet, and I have a bit of algae starting to form on the rocks. They are feeding on it, but I'm wondering if that's enough for the clean up crew at this stage???

It may all depend on how big of a CUC u added and what the crew consists of.

If you see that they plow right through the tank and it's spotless in a couple of days or so then you can usually hold them over with sinking algae pellets and other foods.

It is sometimes best to add small CUC packs at a time in a new system and add them accordingly depending on whether or not the the current crew is able to keep up on the tank.

Its a fine line between feeding the tank and creating an algae spike with the food.
It is much better to go slow and add only what you need than to add a lot of what you dont and then try to add more stuff to fix what you did to get there.

I added a CUC for a 75 gallon tank from Reeftopia. Nice size CUC, but all are very small in physical size individually.

I probably have a CUC for a 25 gallon in my 75.
The companies size those pretty optimistically.
A CUC for a 120 will vary widely depending on what kind of tank it will be. A mixed reef, a FOWLR, a FO or a species tank full of nems.
Dont worry about how many snails you put in there right now unless you are not noticing the algae go away.
When you add livestock, add at a slow and patient rate and add more CUC as you see fit.
