So pet warehouse was having a 20% deal off all there coral, so i could not resist buying a nice show piece acro for my tank. i brought it home did my usual dip and placed it into my tank where it slimed up as to be expected. i havent seen any polyp extension since i have put it in the tank which is ok since i just put it in lastnight but i noticed this little crab crawling around in the acro, which i am assuming is an acro crab but its so tiny i cant tell if its harmful or not, all i can see is white claws and white eyes. and i dont see any white spots on the coral where it could be picking at it. do these characteristics usually mean its a good acro crab?

Well it depends if it is good or not... I would google gorilla crab to see if it is one of them. If it is I dont think that it is good. I don't know if what you are describing is or not. So try to search for images on google.

Yea its very very tiny so i dont think its a gorilla crab i have seen those before and they are larger, and if it was a baby like the one i have i think i would be able to see all that hair, but i dont really see any hair on this guy, but its hard to say i can only clearly see white eyes and white claws.

Can you use a magnifying glass and get a better look at it?
Chances are its an acro crab wont make you feel better if it turns out that it is something far worse and you lost the chance to remove it.
I would quarantine it until you know for sure.

i dont have a seperate tank to put it in, but the little guy doesent seem very interested in leaving the coral, ill try to get a better look when i get home, he is so tiny so its hard. its normal for the acro to take a couple days to show some PE? i never had an large acro before and i know they are iffy

yea i dont want to get him out i like him hes cool, i was just worried because the coral has yet to show any polyps and i dont know if that was because of him or if its just the coral adjusting to a new enviorment, but the claws are deff white and they look smoothe not bumpy where it would harm anything so maybe i got lucky! thats nice for once lol

ok so i went home and got a better look its really hard because he is smaller then my finger nail, but it looks like his body is a darkish color with deff white claws, should i just leave him be or try to take him out, i see no white spots on the coral where it has been eaten.
