I have been reading about a lot of people using Racoon Butterfly fish to eat majano's with success. Rumor has it though that once the Majano's are all gone they start eating mushrooms and SPS polyps.

Has anyone had any experience with these fish?

Well my copperband has taken care of the Aiptasia. I just recently found out about the Racoon eating the Majanos. I have tried to kill them with Kalk and other methods but I know I will never get them all. I would rather him eat my mushrooms, lps and everything else so I can once and for all be rid of all the majanos.

I was reading about the double saddle back butterlfy and these guys seem like they are more problems then just the racoon so I think I will just give it a shot. My worry is he wont get along with the copperband.

Either will probably work. And either will probably go for the majanos first, so you can just trade the fish in if it starts messing with other stuff. Fighting might be an issue, but since the Copperband is more established, it might work ( I would expect the Racoon/saddleback to dominate normally). BTW, I'm writing and article about elimating these pests and could use some good photos if have the opportunity.

Well i have plenty of Majanos to take pictures of. Your welcome to take whatever pictures you want. I dont have anymore aiptasia but the majanos are out of control since I setup this new tank(about 2 weeks now). I guess moving all the rocks stirred them up and they went wild.

Ive tried to Kalk them but its an uphill battle.

A while back I had a saddle back butterfly, nice fish but the 1-2 polyps that I had (only reef item in tank at the time) were gone in no time. Since then I took a chance with the copperband, he has been great (took care of aptista in no time flat), no complaints and is one of my favorite fishes.
