need advice on sunpolyps

i bought about 25 heads of sunpolyps yesterday and placed them on a rock alittle out of the light but still gets alot and they still havent opened up today was thinking what am i doing wrong or do they only open up to eat

Did u acclimate them? Or just plop them in? How much flow are the getting? They like shaded area as they are non photosynthetic. They need high flow. They won't feed until they are happy and polyps extend

Put the coral in the shade and try feeding it mysis/brine shrimp with a turkey baster at night

Spray meaty stuff(frozen food, cyclopeez, coral fenzy, rotifers) directly on them to teased them to open.

yep, just put food directly on the little hole where the mouth is. Even though it's closed, it will suck it in within 15-20 minutes. Once it gets use to the food, it will smell it in the water and open up for them. It may take a couple of weeks, unless you feed them what they are already eating before. All foods have a different smell, you just have to train it. BTW they eat a lot, a pellet or mysis shrimp per head every day.

i had a huge colony for a while and it only opened at 2am bc thats when i would come home from work.. lol

yeah i moved them and they still havent opened they come out about half an inch but i havent seen the yellow polyp yet lol and do these grow on to the rock i noticed the rock it came on is completely covered will it keep covering the area where i put it at
