How to take out bioballs safely?

Switching over to a refugium just received the stuff I bought from In tank and Bulk reef supplys. But the bio balls are in the chamber where the refugium goes.
My tank has been running for 9 months its a 14 gallon biocube.

If you have LR and live sand just take out they should have more than enough beneficial bacteria in a 9 month old tank.

i would do it slowly just to be safe... like 1/2 now and another half in a few weeks

Thank you for replying. I ended up taking half out half but placing them in the second compartment on the media rack and the first chamber of the biocube.

How much rock do you have in the tank?
