hey I'm planning on going BB on my new 65RR and put cutting board on the bottom. Was just wondering whats easier to work with 2 pieces 18x18 inches......or 3 pieces of 12x18 inches?? the tank is 36x18

thanks,
alvin

No need to silicone. The weight of the rock is good enough. Some people do seal it thinking that detritus will get underneath it and cause "problems". But it is not true unless the pieces are warped. And even still there wouldn't be a build-up of substantial porportions to do any harm. Plus who the hell looks under the starboard ???

I would try for rounded on the corners. The silicone on the inside of the tank corners makes it hard for the sharp edged corner boards to lie flat. That is what I have found.

I have 72 bow and going BB too. Do I have to trim the board exactly to fit the bottom of the tank and put silicone around and in between boards? Or just get two pieces of cutting board put it in the middle of the tank. Also Can I just put the live rocks on top of the glass-no boards? Thanks.
