Hey guys. I recently caught the chalice bug during the frag swap and bought 8 chalice frags! It was a great experience btw.

I know they are fairly easy to keep but I am hoping someone can provide feeding tips on how I should go about feeding them and with what type of food. Directly? Each eye? What tool do you use?

Tip on how to get acans to grow faster would be much appreciated also.

Use a pair of tweezer when feeding chalices mysis or pacific plankton and a syringe/turkey baster when feeding them reef caviar (fish eggs). You can cut it up so that it fits in their mouths. Slow down the current and powerheads in the tank so that they get a chance to swallow the food. If there are fish in the tank, it makes it harder since they like that food as well and will pick at their mouth to take it away.

If they are on the sand and not huge colonies, cover them before you feed. I use a 2 liter bottle and cut the bottom off. I then place the bottle over the coral and inject the food in through the cap side of the bottle. The bottle makes the coral have very little to no current. It also keeps the fish away.

Not sure why the skimmer would overflow. I have an in sump skimmer. So it pulls water from the sump and returns back into the sump.

If the water level changes in my sump, the skimmer needs to be adjusted... Everyone's setup is different I guess. Also depends if your return siphons a lot out of your DT when off as well.. Mine pulls an extra gallon or two out when it shuts down.
