Question regarding a worm.

I was adjusting my sand a few minutes ago and I saw a small worm. I was told that worms are generally okay as long as it is not the Euchinid Worm. The worm was small but he could just be a juvenile, should I try to sift through the sand and get him out because I do know the general area of sand he buried himself in. My wife was helping me out at the moment and she said he was in between the sand and rock and just turned and disappeared.

What do you recommend I do?

I was busy dealing with the sand but my wife says that he had something on his sides along its entire body.

I went searching for it again and whatever it was it is now gone.

Was a bristle worm I'd say. harmles unless you have a population explosion. They actually will eat crap out of your sandbed.

Be sure not to touch the bristles- they stick in your skin and sting- if you see it again and it's colored red it's a fireworm, those are REALLY nasty so definately be sure not to touch it then even more so than a bristleworm.

You can build traps for them and leave them out over night a soda bottle with the top reversed, they crawl in after whatever food you put in and can't get out. Then you can collect them in the morning and get rid of them:
