How do you hang your ai sol unit?

So I just got an ai sol nano that I want to put onto my rimless 12x12x12 tank.
However, the mount that comes with it is terrible. It doesn't place the unit directly over the middle of my tank and since my tank doesn't have a rim, the screws would be screwing into the tank and be inside the water. So I thought about hanging it instead.

I've never hung a unit before. What exactly is it supposed to be hanging off of exactly?

I'm a little disappointed with this mount. I would expect most people to be using a nano sol over a nano tank. therefore the mount could have been cleaner and compact like the ai sol nano. This thing is like a giant boomerang I could throw across a field.

I'm also open to any other suggestions on how to place my unit over my tank
