Vortech MP40W ES Question

Hey Folks;
I have a 48"X24"X24" 120 gallon reef tank. I have two MP40w ES' on it. They are positioned two thirds of the way up the glass slightly offset each other on opposite sides of the tank. I have them on the Lagoon setting at the second to lowest speed setting, and they still seem a bit too fast. My fish don't even attempt to swim above them. They also tend to kick up some sand (dust), making my water a bit cloudy. Any suggestions???

They are synced. I have them running opposite each other. 4 years on this site, and I still don't know how to post pics. Sorry. Last time I asked, I was attacked for not knowing.

there is a flat side on the wet side try facing that towards the sand i have two on my 90 almost same dimensions and my fish pick at them something not right

You shouldnt of been attacked for asking a question. Thats what we are all here for.. If you can try n post a pic on here and tell us what sand you used we can try to help you out as best as possible.

U should try raising them up some. I had two on my 90 gallon about 1/3 up. U can probably put them up towards the top and about 4 inches under the water. Also , maybe try one on lagoon and one on reef crest. Make sure the solid piece on the wet side is facing down. There might not be enough flow , causing your fish to fall back into the rock work

i have the exact same tank and setup...i run them at the lowest speed each, anything more my sand gets moved and my corals sway violently....2 mp 40 is overkill i learned...

For a 120 2 MP40s are perfect. Set them about 6-8" below the surface, reef crest mode, anti/sync and start at about 40%. Make sure flat section on wet side is down as has been said.
