I got the orp probe on my apex it stays around 350 i been asking to see what the reading should be in a reef tank but theres not much info on it , i read some place that in the ocean its between 400-500 also read that messing around with ozone can bleach your tank quick so i just let it be for now hoping i find some real info soon

Oh someone like me...lol oh what's that , let me buy it and see what it does....I bought one for the apex just because.....when my Sps tank was just Sps it ran around 300-350 , once I broke down my nano and put all my softies in there it shot up after a few days to about 400-470 because of the gases that the softies give off......your probably reading normal but for some reason u have a minus sign

This sais allot from the Reefkeeping article

"Most reef aquarists, aside from those that use ozone and must therefore monitor ORP to prevent overdosing, use ORP to monitor if anything unusual happens in the aquarium. A sudden drop in ORP, for example, suggests that the reducers are suddenly gaining ground. That might be because a gush of organic molecules has been released from a dead organism, or because the oxygen supply is not keeping up with demand for some reason. Aquarists might use such information like an alarm suggesting the tank needs to be looked at closely. Most aquarists do not target any specific ORP value as being optimal, in part because ORP measurement is subject to considerable potential error."

Orp

Like Mike said, I use my ORP reading to generally monitoring how the tank is doing. My ORP generally runs between 390 and 435. It dropped below 200 once when my macro algae in the refugium went aysexual and depleted the oxygen from the tank. Generally when my ORP starts dropping I know it is time for a water change. Hope that helps.
