more help w/ my euroreef

guys i just plugged in my euroreef for the first time and the cup filled up in less than a minute. what can i do? should i lower the oulet pipe-/riser pipe.

You should lower the riser.

Lower the pipe to the bottom and let it run for a while and then you can raise it in time to produce the kind of skim you want. Raise the pipe for wet skim and lower it for dry skim.

well the skimmer is sitting on 5-6" of h20

i made an eggcrate box for the skimmer to sit on since the compartment it's in gets at least 10" of water

Yep. Start it as low as possible. I set mine so that the bubbles are at or just above the bottom of the collection cup.

one other thing the pump it currently has is a sedra rated @ 350ghp. i want something with more ummff in it. what do you guys suggest?

did you put any chemicals in your tank lately? It will make the skimmer go crazy, otherwise lower the pipe as much as possible, let it run for a few hours and raise the pipe 1/2" at a time, and watch the foam as it gets higher, you have to balance the height of the output pipe to the quality of the skimmate you want (higher pipe means wet skimmater, and lower pipe means thick, dak, smelly skimmate)
