no way. that's f'ed up.
the taser should be used only as a last resort next to shooting someone for real.
they could have easily pulled her out. they gave her what 30 seconds?

wow yeah that is messed up; just cause he warned her a bunch of times doesn't make it ok imho. i think the two of them could have gotten her out no problem. plus screaming at her to put her arms behind her back after she had just been tased. she did seem a bit cuckoo, but wow. i'll make sure i drive carefully next time i am in florida!!

I think he did the right thing. he told her numerous times to hang up the phone and put her hands on the steering wheel and she ignored him. police officers risk their lives daily by walking up to those cars, not knowing what the driver might do to them.

for those of you that say "it was a woman.." let me say that a 9 year old girl plunged a knife into her best friend's chest this past week, killing the girl. police officers are taught to protect themselves and ensure their own safety while doing their job.

and, said in most beavis like voice, "the taiser, hit her with the taiser"

I agree, my brother is a cop and I would rather him get control of the situation before it gets out of control. You never know what situation you are walking into when you stop a car. Just the other night a cop got shot 3 times in the chest on dealing with a car he was trying to stop. On the flip side they want to go home to their families too. If you do what they ask, providing it's reasonable you don't have to worry about getting taisered out your car.

i think the cop did the right thing, maybe a little too excessive, but force was definitely called for. sometimes i think unsavory people purposely challenge cops to these kinds of situations just so they can get a big fat settlement in the end. i also think there sometimes is a sense of hostility towards cops that is uncalled for, ultimately making the suspect even more defiant and dangerous. i mean a cop isnt supposed to be begging "pretty please" they need some kind of leverage. just do what the cop says and stop copping an attitude.

That's my feeling. If she would have hung up the phone and gotten out of the car, none of this would have happened.

Maybe now she'll listen to an officer when he tells her to do somthing.

i woulda done the same thing the cop did. a cop is not supossed to enter a vehicle in florida to pull people out. there are too many dangers, whether it is a woman or not. women are crazy :D but the cop warned her plenty and she should have listened to him

You have to watch the whole thing to understand why he tased her. I would have too. I was pissed watching just te tasing part until I watched the whole arrest. Little did she know that she for speeding she was just getting a ticket. Unlicenced driver is another violation (depending on who suspended it). She would have gotten a DAT (desk apperance ticket)at the precint or been ROR'ed in Court and been home for dinner. Her mouth caused the problem. Now she has a criminal record. And tasing hurts.
