guys,
i am upgrading to a bigger tank and would like to use same bed ( crushed corals) currently in my 120 setup. i know most of you say i shouldn't use it but if i rinse it thoroughly and let it run for few days letting it settle before i move all my fishies, it should be safe right? lmk what you think guys or what needs to be done. tks.

stay away from crushed coral ,now tha you are changing tanks ,use a sand or south down if you want that type of look .,JMO

Or go BB ,But i dont like it if you are not doing a ful blown SPS or mostly SPS

marino, there is more than one reason to avoid cc substrate. There are a lot of marine fish that like to burrow and dig in the sand. CC is much too coarse for them and can damage their scales.

Many wrasse, gobies, dragonets are prolific diggers. It's just not healthy for them. This is in addition to it being a detritus trap.
