Temperature gauge/thermometer issue?

My digital temp gauge showed less than analog ones in dt....so I replaced the LR44 battery, cleaned the probe tip.

Still it is 6f less than analog.....

What do ido....? This is one of the $10 ones in lfs.sticks outside dt with wire probe in sw.

how old is it? is it a coralife like this?

they are not accurate even when new. i had at least 6 that died after a year or so. no changing of the battery nor probe cleaning will resurrect it. get yourself one of these instead. much more accurate but i did have one probe(out of 5) died in less than a year.

but honestly,the most bang for the buck and never had one gone bad are the cheap floating analog ones....but it's so low tech....lol....
