Skimmer stopped skimming

Not sure what would cause a skimmer to stop skimming. The skimmer is a swc mini hot. Was working fine, producing a nice skim. I changed out the pump with the same brand/model/watt pump since old pump was really nosiy. ever since then the hasnt hasnt skimmed. it produces bubbles but nothing else. it has been like this for 2 days. the cup completely empty. Last night i decided to throw the old pump back on and it is still not skimming. Now im not sure what could cause this.

Same thing happened with my skimmer when I replaced the pump. What I did was: ran it in vinegar water for a day. It still took a while, but it is now skimming better then before! I did have to dial it in all over.

Thanks will try that. Not sure y it's not skimming still that I installed old pump back on? Thanks again for the replies

Is your the water leveled where your skimmer is at? Meaning is the pump submerged all the way down and its not catching to air while its on?

thanks Awi!!! Let pump run in vinegar/water for a few hours and threw that puppy on.. its skimming like a champ now!

Yup, just needed to get rid of some of the oils the manufacturer may have used while putting it together.
