It always amazes me to see the difference between viewing my corals and fish through the glass and looking at them from the open top. From above the colors are much more vivid and distinctive with variations in color shades. I wish I had the top view from the front lol! Does starphire/low iron glass make a huge difference?

I use leds btw.

Yes the glass makes a pretty big difference. The clearer the glass the more natural since they will not get discolored. Also remember that you want to look directly through the glass at a right angle for the "best" view, even on a flat pane of glass. While you may not see much of a difference there is since the light has to refract through the glass instead of straight through it.

funny, i bought two clams from DD and they were advertised as turquoise. I put them in my tank and they were blue as blueberrys. I call them to tell them that the wrong clams were sent. She tells me to look at them over the water. UNREAL...totally turquoise! lol
