Almost every time I've gone to NWA I've dealt with the same guy who several times successfully discouraged me from impulse buying livestock that wouldn't have survived long in my set-up. He never gushed over me, but I having worked in retail in the past, I don't expect anyone to. He was courteous and knowledgable and when I go in I look for him. He's never steered me wrong and the guy(s) at the check-out have always been friendly. I have no idea who the owner is; perhaps I've never dealt with him. Not the cheapest place around, but not a single fish I've bought from them died. (Well, several died after I switched tanks, but that was my fault. :headache: )

Bought a clownfish from them exactly 1 year back, he's still alive....bought a few mushrooms another time...the're doing well..and bought a few zoo frags from them....a few which have died, but to my own neglect/inexperience. The guy in the back with the pony tail always helps me....doesn't smile much but always helpful as well as the rest of the staff...not a bad place to check out if you're in the area.

Yasou Dimitry! I think it's you. Taso here. Ola kala?

Just for clarification, 23rd street bet. 2nd and 3rd was called Greater NY Aquarium. When it was across the street it was NY Aquarium & Pet Supply. This is where I learned my trade. Greatest aquarium shop I ever worked in. We got stuff in that was fantastic. FW was f'ing awesome to behold.

Then they moved across the street and it went downhill. The reason for it all... someone made about a 2" mistake on building the stands and they scrapped their whole blueprint and went a different way. NWA showed up and undercut alot of their prices and then the owner stopped caring to an extent. I was already at NWA by that point.

NWA gets a bad rap sometimes for being snooty or what have you... but try working 11 hours a day on your feet... you won't get the fake smile treatment but I feel almost everyone there is extremely respectful.

Yeah, LOL! Dave got into the phone business. He tried to get me into it. Funny guy that Dave. I loved it when he used to smoke and had ashes all over his shirt with a dangling cig in his mouth. Then he went to pizza and club soda as his modus operandi and lost a ton of weight.

On second thought, I will kill my own message. If you cant say anything nice it's better not to say anything at all. ;-) Maybe the owner has changed or he had an apiphany...
