Im currently on the search for a pump for my build. I've used the head loss calculator on reef central and came up with 13.41' head pressure with 545gph. That was with a mag 18. I was considering a sicce syncra 5.0 that someone is selling. I want to be able to run 1 pump while supplying the 90gal, Reactors, and possibly my nano as a frag tank.
The 90 gal will have approximatly 4 3/4' head
Frag tank is approx. 3.5' vertical but will be about 5' away
Reactors will hang in stand at about 2' up.

Can I do this or should I get different pumps for each. I really can't wrap my head around this so any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I got that from the calculator on reef central. I doesn't make sense to
me either. Maybe I just did things wrong. I added the verticle distances for each tank and reactors and added 3 ball valves and and 3' horizontal distance to the frag tank.

So the head loss from running the frag tank and reactors don't count in the calculation. Just the 5' up to the 90.

Except for all the fittings, they still would count but for an aqarium i wouldnt bother but you can. But the height is the tallest, thats the one you use.

Unless for some reason calculating an open system is different than a closed system which i just cant see. I calculate head for heating pumps which is closed and under pressure but the princable is the same.

I cant see the 5 feet away making any difference.

I only listed the mag cause they had that there. I really wanted to use a sicce syncra 5.0. Actually trying to avoid mags for the reason.
