Fish keep dying!!!!

Help, I have been doing SW for a year and ? now coming fromFW, I have a 110G SW that is doing just fine I have a nice amount of live rock,deep sand bed, a sump/refugim & a skimmer and some easy low light corals, sofar I haven?t lost fish to sickness the only time I have lost fish is when one clown just jump out & my flaming angel did that same. So my point is that I think I?m doing well with keeping a healthy tank & fish.

I had a 29G that was FW & I took it a down, I wanted toget rid of it but my 5 year old did not let me he this that dad has the 110G& the 29 is his.

So I made it SW for him, I got live sand, live rock,caulerpa alge growing in the tank, 2 425gph Hydor Koralia Nano & 1 AqueonQuietFlow 55/75 Power Filter & a 2nd one that is Aqueon QuietFlow 30 PowerFilter for extra filtration, my stock list was: 2 Ocellaris Clownfish, 2Blue/Green Chromis, 1 Six Line Wrasse, 1 Royal Gramma Basslet, it all starts when my wife got me a Lemonpeel Angelfish for the 29G and & Powder Blue Tang forthe 110G from an on line store. The tang is going great!!! The lemonpeel after4-5 days was dead, & after that all the fish started getting sick, they have had white color spots on them, not ich but more like a fungi type, the only fish that we ok where the Chromis & Six Line Wrasse, so I got all of RubyReef products but I this it was just 2 late that I lost them all one after the other, the only let where the Chromis & Six Line Wrasse. When it was allover I did a water change & I let the tank run for at least one moth if not more, without adding more fish, now about 2 weeks ago I moved 2 OcellarisClownfish from my 110G to my 29G because they where bullied by my ClarkiiClownfish & now they are sick!!!!! & it looks like the same symptoms asthe other fish had & the Chromes & Six Line Wrasse are just doing finewith nothing on them. What?s going on???????

It sounds like marine velvet bit its hard to say without pics

I think it is marine velvet, but my thing is that theChromis & Six Line Wrasse never had it the 1st time & they don?t haveit now. I?m thinking that the marine velvet is still present in the tanks &it was just never 100% cured

The chromosome and six line could just be carriers and not show the symptoms. The only way to get rid of it would be to qt and treat those two fish and leave the tank fallow for 8-10 weeks.


PS, a 29 gal is way to small for any Pygmy angles

Someone on here posted this product POLY-LAB MEDIC. After an impulse buy of a powder blue to be my last fish the next day he was totally full of spots, then infected my other fish. I lost a couple of fish and got that product. I read on some other forums that the company said you could double the dose for a bad break out. I know some people say nothing works but this stuff worked for me i had some fish that were totally infected, i doubled the dose at first. Is reef safe i had no effects on anything.

I think it could be worth a shot for you.

Ok ill get the POLY-LAB MEDIC but I want it ASAP last time it took me to long to get the RubyReef products so dose some one know of a shop the will have it?

I read Cupramine by Seachem is great, really safe and elos in jersey has them in stock. I think Manhattan aquariums have them as well. (most LFS don't have that product and you can forget about petco and petland)http://pet-supplies.drsfostersmith....743&rk=1&uid=594606266&method=and&isort=score

I know what your saying i dont know local who has it, but since my fish were going to die i paid for over nigh from marine depot, it was costly but well worth it.

If you are going to try the POLY-LAB i think marine depot has that it treats 550 gallon, no way it treats far more it must be a misprint. The bottle says 10 day treatment and every forum i was on said longer and i had to do longer.

Ill work on getting the POLY-LAB MEDIC but dose some one have other ideas & something that I can do ASAP that can help, will a large/big water change help???

if its velvet, only treatment option is copper. If its ick, then lowering the salinity will work too, you can try fresh water dip but that puts more stress on your fish.

The POLY-LAB is for velvet also. How well it will work for you i dont know.
